I’ve submitted an application but have not heard from a recruiter. When can I expect to hear from one?

We receive a tremendous number of applications for each role. Once you apply, you should receive confirmation of receipt for your application. Should your qualifications align with our needs, a recruiter will reach out to you to explore opportunities. You will also be updated if we are not moving you forward in the process.

Can I reach out for updates on my application during the process?

We appreciate your interest and initiative. Due to the volume of candidates and applications we receive, we will be unable to respond to requests for status updates via email.

How will I be notified if I am no longer being considered for a role?

You will be notified via email. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to candidates.

I was referred for a role by a current College Board employee. What do I do?

The College Board employee can submit a referral for you, and you will receive an email that will include a link to apply. If you applied prior to connecting with the College Board employee, please let them know they can reach out to the Talent Team to add the referral. Please wait to be contacted by a recruiter once they review your application and determine eligibility for the role.

Due to the large number of applies and messages we get, we cannot reply to all LinkedIn requests on roles. Please be sure to apply to the role directly so we are able to review your application in detail.

What does College Board do with the interview exercises?

Interview exercises are used solely for the purpose of evaluating your skillset for the role to which you applied. They will not be used for any other purpose, nor will they go into an applicant file.

How long is the interview process?

Our overall process from recruiter screen to salary offer generally takes between 6-7 weeks.

Will I receive feedback on my application, interview, or supporting materials if I am rejected?

In most cases, no. If you progress to the final phases of the interview process and are not selected, you can reach out to your recruiter to request feedback. Recruiters will do their best to provide any feedback that is actionable and could lead to growth for the candidate.

Can I work remotely?

A majority of our roles are remote, but if you live within proximity of a College Board office, you may have the option to work as a hybrid-employee from our offices on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Location/Remote information is specified on our job descriptions.

Can I work remotely outside of the U.S.?

No. College Board does not allow international work for any duration during your employment.

Is the posted salary range negotiable?

Your financial security is our priority. That’s why we target the third quartile (between the 50th and 75th percentiles) of the relevant market. Each role’s salary range is clearly outlined, ensuring you receive our best offer from the start, based on a blend of your experience, location, the broader labor market, and pay of College Board employees in similar roles.

Does College Board offer internships?

Yes. We offer a handful of internship and fellowship programs throughout the year for those in undergraduate or graduate school. These programs allow you to get real-work experience in an area that interests you. Some examples of prior programs we have offered include psychometrics, communications and marketing, policy, and strategy. These are typically posted in the spring and summer.

What is onboarding like at College Board?

College Board offers new hire orientation on your first day that spotlights our mission, how we operate (our culture and work practices), and many of the supports you receive from Talent. There will also be some required asynchronous trainings you are expected to complete within your first few weeks. During your first week you will also be connected to our Talent Team to help answer any immediate questions you have. Onboarding for your specific role will be customized by your team and manager to help set you up for success!
